Coastal Showers in Brevard County, Dry Elsewhere
Mild Tonight, With a Few Coastal Showers
MOBILE APP. REMEMBER, IT IS COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE. LET’S TALK ABOUT SOME GOOD NEWS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. THAT IS THE WEATHER TODAY. I STEPPED OUTSIDE AND MARQUISE IT WAS JUST GORGEOUS OUT THERE. IT WAS SO COMFORTABLE. I DON’T KNOW ANY OTHER TERMS TO DESCRIBE IT. WELL, I’M USED TO LIKE THE HEAT HERE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. RIGHT? IT WAS DEFINITELY JUST A LITTLE BIT BREEZY. BUT I THINK THE BREEZE WAS NICE AT TIMES, TOO, AS TEMPERATURES WERE A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN OUR SEASONAL AVERAGE. AND WE EVEN SNUCK IN SOME SUNSHINE HERE AND THERE. RIGHT NOW, THE MAJORITY OF US WERE HANGING OUT IN THE 70S AS WE TRANSITION FROM THE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DAYTONA BEACH, 69 DEGREES RIGHT NOW. BUT ACROSS OUR ATLANTIC COAST, WE DO SEE THE LOWER 70S IN PALM COAST. NEW SMYRNA BEACH IN THE MID 70S. AS YOU HEAD FURTHER SOUTH INTO MELBOURNE AND PALM BAY. LET’S TAKE YOU OUTSIDE NOW TO DAYTONA BEACH IN WHICH WE DO HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY OR MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AT THE MOMENT. LOOKS LIKE JUST A BIT OF A BREEZE COMING IN FROM THE NORTH AND THOSE WINDS WERE MUCH FASTER EARLIER IN THE AFTERNOON. NOW AT 15 MILE PER HOUR SPEEDS AS WE STAY RELATIVELY DRY WITH THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY PERCENTAGE OF 75, AS YOU HEAD FURTHER WEST, THIS IS WHERE WE ARE BONE DRY. TAKE A LOOK AT THE DEW POINTS IN MARION COUNTY, 34 DEGREE DEW POINTS IN OCALA, 41 IN THE VILLAGES. AND THAT’S WHERE WE’VE BEEN DRY ALL THROUGHOUT THE FALL. SO FAR TODAY, AS WE DO HAVE THOSE VERY DRY CONDITIONS ALL ACROSS I 75 THAT STRETCH EVEN INTO SUMTER COUNTY, GET A LITTLE BIT OF A BREEZE AS WELL. WELL, FROM THE NORTH. AND AS LONG AS WE KEEP THIS NORTHERLY BREEZE, OUR CHANCE FOR RAIN ACROSS OUR WESTERN MOST COUNTIES, THAT IS GOING TO BE INSIGNIFICANT. HERE IN ORLANDO, IT’S BEEN 22 DAYS SINCE THE LAST TIME WE SAW RAINFALL AMOUNTS ABOVE TRACE PRECIPITATION. AND THIS IS THE LONGEST STRETCH SINCE THE END OF LAST WINTER. WE HAD A 21 DAY STRETCH BETWEEN FEBRUARY 11TH AND MARCH 4TH AND HAVE A STRONG FEELING THAT OUR DRY STRETCH IS GOING TO CONTINUE THIS FALL. RIGHT NOW IN ORLANDO, WE’RE ABOUT THREE AND A HALF, NEARLY FOUR INCHES BELOW OUR SEASONAL AVERAGE FOR RAINFALL UP TO THIS POINT IN THE YEAR. THAT NUMBER NEARLY DOUBLES AS YOU HEAD TOWARDS SANFORD AND LEESBURG OVER SEVEN INCHES BELOW YOUR SEASONAL AVERAGE FOR RAINFALL AS JEFF TOWARDS THE ATLANTIC BEACHES, THOUGH, MUCH MORE RAIN HAS BEEN IN THE PICTURE SO FAR THIS YEAR. YOU’RE ABOVE SEASONAL IN DAYTONA BEACH AND YOU SHOW TWO AND NEARLY A QUARTER INCHES ABOVE YOUR SEASONAL AVERAGE ACCUMULATION IN MELBOURNE IN FACT, MELBOURNE RIGHT NOW HERE’S YOUR CHANCE FOR RAIN ACROSS I-95. WE DO HAVE A COUPLE OF SHOWERS COMING IN FROM THE NORTH AND THE EAST PALM BAY. IF YOU LOOK OUT TOWARDS THE EAST, YOU’VE GOT SHOWERS ALONG YOUR COASTLINE AND THAT’LL BE THE GENERAL TREND THAT WE CARRY THROUGHOUT THE EVENING AND OFF AND ON. AGAIN, CHANCE FOR A SPRINKLE OF RAIN AS YOU HEAD THROUGHOUT BREVARD COUNTY IN MELBOURNE AND PALM BAY TOMORROW. A VERY SIMILAR PICTURE WILL BE PAINTED ACROSS OUR COAST. BUT FOR US FURTHER INLAND HERE IN ORLANDO, CLEAR SKIES ARE BACK IN THE PICTURE. REMEMBER, IT’S DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME. SO YOU’VE GOT TO BRING THOSE CLOCKS BACK. YOU GET AN EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP TONIGHT AND THE SUNRISE HAPPENS A LITTLE BIT QUICKER. SO TOMORROW MORNING, AS YOU TAKE ON THE HALF MARATHON FOR THE WINE AND DINE EVENT AT DISNEY AND EPCOT TOMORROW, COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS AT 4:00. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S. THEY’LL RISE JUST A BIT AS THE SUNSHINE COMES BACK EARLY. AND YOU’LL BE IN THE MID 60S TOMORROW FOR THE AFTERNOON MID 70S TO LOWER 80S AS WE’RE COMFORTABLE BREEZY WITH A COASTAL SHOWER CHANCE. BUT FOR THOSE OF US INLAND LOTS OF SUNSHINE AS WE WRAP UP THE WEEKEND ON SUNDAY AND WE’LL BE BACK AT IT AGAIN MONDAY WITH TEMPERATURES GRADUALLY RISING THROUGHOUT THE WORK WEEK. BUT STAY WITH US HERE ON WESH 2 NEWS. KRISTEN LAGO WILL BE PREVIEWING THE LAKERS WHO ARE COMING TO TOWN TO TA

Mild Tonight, With a Few Coastal Showers
Coastal Showers in Brevard County, Dry ElsewhereWith the exception of a few morning and early afternoon showers it’s been a great start to the weekend here in Central Florida. Not too hot and certainly not too cool, we had ourself a Goldie-locks forecast our highest temperatures scratching the surface of the upper eighties, while the majority of us hung out in the seventies today. We’re going to wrap your afternoon spending time in and out of clouds with the better chance for rain along Florida’s South Eastern Coast. Tonight expect to be mostly clear, as we drop into the lower sixties and upper fifties. We’ll finish off your weekend tomorrow with much drier conditions as sunny skies propel temps into the low eighties with a North Easterly breeze.
