David Tronnes murder trial: Friends, neighbors testify



The trial of a man accused of murdering his wife in Orlando’s Delaney Park neighborhood is focusing on a reality TV show and the couple’s history.David Tronnes is on trial for first-degree murder.On the second day of testimony, jurors heard from people who knew the couple. That included friends and neighbors.A lot of the day was about DNA evidence collected from the couple’s home. Orlando police believe Tronnes beat and strangled his wife, Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, five years ago.They were renovating their house, but it turned into a money pit. Investigators say Tronnes was hoping he could get it on the reality TV show “Zombie House Flipping” to bail out the project. But they believe Cooper-Tronnes was upset with how it was going and making plans to possibly leave him.Defense attorneys asked one of her friends about that Friday. “She seemed excited about it, and we said the typical, ‘That’s cool. Let me know when and if it happened because we want to make sure we don’t miss it,’” the friend said.That friend also testified she had never seen any issues between the couple. Tronnes has claimed he found her passed out in the shower.
