The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old boy who was last seen on Friday was found safe Saturday afternoon.The sheriff’s office announced just before 4:00 p.m. Saturday that Matthew Vargas was found safe and canceled the missing child alert that had been posted for him.Vargas had been missing since Friday where he was last seen in the 1000 block of Spring Villas Point in Winter Springs.

Matthew Vargas was last seen Friday in the 1000 block of Spring Villas Point in Winter Springs. He is 5 feet, 7 seven inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds, according to the sheriff’s office. He was last seen wearing a dark camouflage hoodie, blue jeans and black and red Adidas shoes.
Deputies are concerned for Vargas’ safety, as he had recently made statements suggesting possible self-harm.
Deputies are asking anyone who sees Vargas or might have information on where he is to call the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 407-665-6650.
