How is News Feed different from my Wall?

Your Wall shows all the stories from people you’re friends with in chronological order. News Feed is a constantly updating list of stories from people you’re friends with on Facebook.

The primary difference between News Feed and your Wall is that News Feed includes updates from all your friends, not just the ones you’ve subscribed to. Subscribing to somebody means that their posts always appear on your Wall. Items that may appear in News Feed include:

-Posts made by people you have subscribed to
-Stories about you (ex: when someone tags a photo of you)
-Posts made by Pages you have Liked
-Birthdays of Facebook friends
-Events happening near you

You can customize what appears in News Feed by hiding stories or changing your story settings for each person or Page.

How does News Feed work?

Your News Feed is personalized for you. That means that you might see different things than your friends see when they look at their News Feeds.

To personalize your News Feed, Facebook looks at the stuff you’ve clicked on in the past, as well as other factors such as how many of your friends have also clicked on it.

If enough of your friends interact with a story (like, comment, or share it), it might appear higher up in your News Feed.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:
-The most recent stories appear at the top of News Feed. As you scroll down, older stories will continue to appear unless you’ve muted or hidden someone.

-If you only occasionally interact with someone, their posts might appear lower down in your News Feed or not at all.
-Interactions between close friends take priority over other types of interactions, such as likes and comments.
